Come celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles at the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem’s annual ‘Feast of Tabernacles.’
The Feast of Tabernacles is meant to replicate the holy biblical feast of Sukkot, and is one of the three feasts that are supposed to be celebrated specifically in Jerusalem, as commanded by the bible. The Feast of Tabernacles was celebrated by the Hebrews in the tents of their forefathers, as a remembrance of the 40 years spent wandering in the desert Later, Christ taught at the Temple of Jerusalem that the Feast of Tabernacles was really an allegory for coming Kingdom of G-d, in addition to a present day celebration of the lord.
Since 1980 the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem has hosted an annual ‘Feast of Tabernacles,’ which draws up to 5,000 Christians from more than 100 countries in the world.
The seven day Feast of Tabernacles takes place at a variety of locations in Jerusalem, including the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Jerusalem, Ein Gedi Spa at the Dead Sea in Jerusalem, the Garden Tomb (which many people believe to be the Garden of Joseph of Arimathea, where Jesus was buried after he was crucified on the cross,) and the International Convention Center in Jerusalem.
The Festival of Tabernacles will be scheduled as follows for the 2012:
Each day there are Morning Prayer services, followed by daytime seminars and courses which cover a variety of subjects, but all which center back to the topics of Israel, the Church and eschatology. In between seminars, there will be a number of special displays and store fronts, where commemorative and cultural products can be purchased by local Israeli craftsmen.
After the daytime events, evenings feature outside worship event, where pilgrims have a chance to share a feast together, under the silver light of the full moon.
After the evening communal meal, there are wide lineups of scheduled evening events which have been prepared for entertainment and enjoyment, such as international choirs, orchestra and dances all with the higher power of offering praise to the lord and savior. Some of the events feature a Parade of Nations, an Israeli Night of celebrations and a Grand Evening finale.
The fourth day of the Feast of Tabernacles will have a communion service in English and Portuguese at the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, where many think to be the location of the burial and resurrection of Christ. The garden is indeed beautiful, with thousands coming to visit and make pilgrimage yearly. The garden’s message is to show the 5 ways that the tomb matches that found in the gospel and proves Christ to be the son of G-d.
The communion service is one of the pinnacles of the Feast of the Tabernacle, where pilgrims from the entire world eat and drink bread and wine, and arise new and refreshed as Christians and minions of Christ’s work on earth.
The Feast of Tabernacles will be a stunning celebration of the ancient biblical feast and festival, as well as a renowned celebration of the glory and teachings of Christ, as well as an excellent chance to meet pilgrims from all over the world, and tour the birthplace, home and death of the Lord’s only son and savior, Jesus Christ.
